Crikey Its May

April, a time of greenery, sun and chocolate eggs. Of daffodils, lawn mowers and light evenings. How great is are the light evenings? Makes those after work trips to the bottom of the garden to refill water and chicken pellets so much easier.

Firstly, Im happy to say, once again I've been lucky enough to keep my job. Which up until now I hadnt broadcasted at my place of work as so many other people have yet to find out if they are ok. So that was a huge relief. Fingers crossed for so many others.

April drifted along quite sanely really.

Project patio soldiers on, with the planting of lettuce, onions, celery, carrots and chard. Where have I planted lettuce, onions and celery I hear you ask. Well the lettuce and onions have been planted here…

This fantastic trough that grandpa Silverpop made me out of bits of wood, its very cool. Its also massive and when my veggies have grown, who knows, if Beech doesnt behave, he may end up buried in there...

Carrots are in big pots and I've actually forgotten where I planted the celery so that will be a nice surprise if it suddenly grows. Lettuce, chard and carrots are being grown to feed the Beecher menagerie, chickens and guinea pigs and the onions are for the kitchen. Actually I lied about the chard, this post had been half drafted since mid April and now thats its getting on for mid May, its all old news. The lying bit comes from finding the packet with the Chard seeds in the drawer the other day and realising I hadnt actually planted them as stated above. Back to April...

I also bought some pansies and pretty stuff for the patio pots and hanging baskets…

Poppy likes pigs see. She's kissing it...

With her teeth. Scruffy dog, more about that later.

We had a mothers day and I received what will probably be the last mothers day card made at school, from Ben. Apparently they dont do it in big school. Bah.

How pretty. Course it was signed in the normal way, you know, just in case I cant figure out which of the millions of Bens that live with me its come from.

I think he'll still be signing his name 'Ben B' when hes in his twenties. See the little note about Wrestlemania? Thats because it was the same day as mothers day, on PPV at a whopping £15 in the early hours. And no, he didnt get to watch it, specially as you can more of less see it on You Tube a day or so later. Worth a shot I spose he thought.

What else. Got to remember now as thats all I had typed up back in April, hoping my cameras memory card will jog the old memory a bit. Ah yes, chickens. You might remember that last year I purchased some day old chicks called Welsummers in the hope of raising a layer of a deep dark brown egg. You may also remember that they kept dropping like flies and I gave up. You may remember that I'd purchased some on behalf of Beech's boss and annoyingly (and also thankfully) the ones earmarked for her were perfectly fine and went off to live in the country. Which a month of so ago now, came into lay. Their new mummy very kindly sent me three of those eggs. Guess which ones?

I'll give you a clue, they look like chocolate. How cool are they!! Thats why I desperately wanted a Welsummer, just look at the colour of those. The one at the end especially. Fantastic. What isnt quite so fantastic is that both of the Welsummers that went to live with Beech's boss were taken by a fox, along with one of her cockerels so out of the 5, there is just Edward, (the one we'd named Ostrich cause he was tall) who Im told is the size of a great dane, and Bella (see, even chickens with those names are fated to be together, never mind vampires) who is currently sat on 8 eggs which will hopefully hatch this weekend. Edward Im also told was a complete star as it seems he was battered during the attack, and took a firm beating trying to protect his little group. Im also told he is incredibly sad and lonely because Bella is busyon eggs and so Ive said I will donate 2 of my girls to them to keep him company. Consequently, Rosie and Dizzy will be moving house this weekend to go and live in the country. Im sure they will love it.

End of April saw Ben's 11th birthday and a week or so before it, the first suprise for it. It started at the dog groomers. Poppy went in for her first big girl haircut.

Scuffy bag. Mostly black, lots of tufty puppy fur.

All long and wind swept. With the warmer weather she was finding it hard to keep cool so it had to come off.

How grown up is she? I think she's laughing at Ben's shorts there. I have to say, I was amazed at the colours that were unearthed from the black puppy fur, would you have thought she was the same dog? Now she's also incredibly silky and doesnt get sticks caught in her tummy fur. Anyway, one with the story. We collected her from the groomers, and took her to show grandad silverpop. Oddly enough, while we were there, Grandad asked if we could give him a lift to his boat, which of course we could. We threw Ben into the back, back seats, Bethany and I in the back seat and Silverpop and Beech in the front.

Not far into the journey Ben fell asleep, which was quite handy because we werent actually going to the boat yard which he'd have realised sooner or later. Just before we arrived at our destination he woke up. I told him he looked a little disheveled and sweaty from being asleep and to here, change into this t-shirt I just happened to have with me. Which he did, specially as it had his favourite wrestler John Morrison on. We parked up in a huge car park and got out of the car. ‘Where do you think you are?’ I asked Ben. ‘Erm,’ he said, ‘In a place that sells cars?’

Err no.

We walked for a bit, noticing lots of people walking the same way we were, lots of kids and strangely, some had masks on, some had huge belts, lots had caps on and I could see Ben’s face looking very puzzled. Silverpop produced a John Cena cap from inside his coat and put it on and very very slowly Ben’s expression changed. Then we saw a couple of kids with Ray Mysterio masks on and as we walked up to the arena I said to Ben, ‘Do you know where you are now?’ and he answered in a very tiny, almost daren’t believe it voice ‘Are we are at Wrestlemania Revenge?’

Of course.

I'd never been to the LG Arena in Birmingham before, it’s a nice venue. Our seats were good, tiered enough so that even the kids could see over a tall adult sat in front and we had a great view of the ring. From the adverts I knew John Cena, The Miz and Randy Orton would be performing (bit of geeky wrestling talk now Im afraid) but didn’t realize it was a full bill and far more wrestlers than we had hoped for an imagined.

We saw Santino, Koslov, Evan Bourne & Chavo and a couple of other less known wrestlers first, then new sensation Sin Cara took on Alex Riley.

We saw Randy Orton and CM Punk kicking seven shades out of each other with bottles, sticks, you name it..
then to Ben's huge delight, John Morrison came on. Sadly my zoom wasnt long enough, despite us having good seats, but Ben's happy cause you can at least see who they are.... s'John Morrison init.
Doing his fancy schmancy leaping around init. He's beating up Dolph Ziggler there.

We saw the Celtic Warrior, mr milk bottle himself, King Shaemus beating up Daniel Bryan

Also performing were the Bella Twins and R-Truth came on and did a bit of a competition for some people to go back stage. Course we were all waiting for...

The very lovely John Cena to duff up big mouth Miz. Course as any wrestling fan knows, Miz cheats and had back up, so Sin Cara came to the rescue and it became a tag team match.

We all really enjoyed it, so much so, we thought we'd book tickets to see the Smackdown tour in November. Wrestlemania Revenge was the Raw brand, so to see wrestlers like Big Show, Rey Mysterio, Christian, Alberto del Rio, we'd have to go to a Smackdown show. Tickets were duly booked and then came the annual 'Draft' which we didnt really know about and what do you know, the people we specifically wanted to see at Smackdown have now transferred over to the Raw brand. [insert swear words here]. It should still be a pretty good show, especially as its going to be televised which means there will be a lot more to it, than just an exhibition show so Im sure it will be just as good. Cept I really wanted to see Rey Mysterio, bummer.

Suspect this post is far too long now, serves me right for not blogging for weeks and weeks. Few bits more to tell but will do in a new post. Lastly, seeing as I uploaded this photo in April to mention, the canvases for my digi pages all came back, very very pleased with the quality, odd photo as the angle is a bit weird, but thats because they are hanging on the stairs and its tricky to get them in straight on, but here's my little gallery so far.

I like it.
